In my opinion, the book Stolen by Lucy Christopher had such a big build up leading to a big let down. The book seemed to drown on for ages and then finished so quickly. The ending to me was disappointing, reading through many pages as Gemma grew closer and began to like Ty more, and ending in a way not expected.
I thought the book would emphasise the whole kidnapping part at the start, but that however was summed up in a few pages. The book seemed to linger on with parts that should have taken 3-4 pages instead of 10. Most of the time it felt as if I was reading stuff similar to what had just happened. 'She got up, walked around the house, found him, got scared and then went away.'
I was undecided through the whole book whether she would stay with him and fall in love, or if she would eventually leave by either escape, or him letting her go. I thought the ending would be a major part of the book, however, like the beginning of the book, it was over before it started.
However, this book by Lucy Christopher, did keep me interested, making it hard to stop reading because I wanted to know what happened next. It made me realise how lucky we are to have a house to live in and family to protect us. I thought about how I would react in a situation like this. Would I have done the same thing? Thinking if I would ever survive, I was thankful to be reading this book and not Gemma, the stolen one.
